Our campaign is fighting for powerful policies that will save our economy, minimise inequality and reverse the effects of climate change.

Our platform calls for a federal cap on rent increases, transformative criminal justice reform, Medicare for dental and HECS to be wiped for Australians doing it tough. The time for playing conservative politics is over. We need BIG sustainable solutions that match the crises we face.

where I come from.

I WAS BORN IN BATEMANS BAY, ON THE SOUTH COAST IN NEW SOUTH WALES.

Growing up the second eldest of 5 children we got by with the necessities. Nothing materialistically fancy. We were babysat by our friendly neighbours and fished for flounders in the Nelligen River.

Dad worked for Telecom while mum happily sacrificed her career to raise us. Living in a 2 bedroom cottage with an outhouse wasn’t always comfortable but it set me up for harder years ahead.

I began my adult career working in the fashion industry - just in time to witness the transition from local manufacturing to offshore ‘Fast Fashion’. In order to support myself living away from family I also worked many odd jobs including door to door fundraising for Surf Lifesaving Australia and waitressing. Home called me back and I began working in sales at the local radio station.

My aspiration to become an announcer grew during this time which led me to the Australian Film Television and Radio School. After graduating, I moved to Grafton to work on air where I hosted the morning show. This is where I fell in love with the power of community and story telling. It was also the beginning of my life’s work - advocating for people with Lyme Disease.

During my morning show I was confronted with the grim reality of people with Lyme Disease and felt a duty of care to begin telling this story. How people were and still are being treated doesn’t add up. This curiosity followed me into a Photojournalism Major at Queensland College of Art where I successfully crowd funded a short documentary that followed a Brisbane women to Malaysia where she received medical treatment. You can watch here.

Photography took me all around the world, from Auchwitz in Poland to the Peruvian Amazon and Machu Picchu then onto working as a staff photographer and multimedia specialist for Queensland Newspapers, Photojournalist for Region Media and a brief contract with ABC Bega. My work has been exhibited in the Olive Cotton Portrait Award, Brisbane, Sydney, Moscow, Pakistan the U.S and here in Canberra where I have lived with my husband and 2 young children since 2020.

In 2019, I was in a situation where I was one of those women who I was taking photos of, years prior. I experienced first hand where the system was failing to keep women and children safe in the Federal Circuit Family Court of Australia.

I experienced and am still experiencing how criminal law was written to prioritise the reputations of perpetrators over the safety of victims and justice. I experienced the long and retraumatising process of reporting a crime.

This lived experience has been a catalyst for a social enterprise, Lady News, that I founded in 2023. Lady News is an online community and digital news & lifestyle platform aimed at providing income and outlet for survivors of gendered violence and family court.

I can’t do this without you
